Practical Information

The month of June is characterized by rising daily high temperatures, with daily highs increasing from 25°C (77°F) to 28°C (82°F) over the course of the month, exceeding 32°C (91°F) or dropping below 19°C (67°F) only one day in ten.

Time Zones
Sinaia operates on Eastern European Standard time, which is 3 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For international passengers, we suggest that you try to allow yourself at least a day in which to adjust to the time difference and relax after your flight before the Congress commences.

Credit cards
Credit cards are widely accepted. Commonly recognized cards include Visa and MasterCard. If you want to pay onsite by credit card, only these cards are accepted by the Congress.

The electrical current in Romania is 220V (50 Hz). In case your equipment requires different voltage, please make sure you bring an electrical transformer.
The sockets are two-pin so they are not compatible with British, American or Indian plugs.

You do not need any other health certificate or vaccines to enter Romania.

It is strongly recommended that delegates take out adequate travel and health insurance prior to the commencement of travel. Further information can be obtained from your travel agent.

Currency exchange
The Romanian national currency is LEU, subdivisible in BANI.

Rarely Used: 1, 5 BANI

Rarely Used: 200, 500 
Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks or exchange offices called ”CASA DE SCHIMB”. 
Euros and US Dollars are the easiest to exchange. Please note that most banks close at 3.00 PM and you will need your ID/passport when for the exchange.

No Smoking Policy
Delegates should be aware that smoking is banned in the Congress venue, the International Conference Center, as well as in most public buildings.

The official language of the Congress is English.
